On Ilkla Moor baht ‘at?!

It was a sunny old morning so we decided to take Daisy to a new place to explore. So we got her in the car and took her Ilkley Moor. It is only a few miles away and she was excited before she was even out of the car. She ran most of the way up the hill to the middle of the rocks, bouncing in and out of the heather, taking in all the new sights and smells.

We then climbed to the moorland at the top of the rocks, just in time for the sun to come out. Daisy had tons of fun running along in and out of the puddles and generally going round in circles. She then had a sniff around all the way back down to the car park even taking time to check out the top of a large boulder.

Hopefully she enjoyed exploring a new place in the sunshine, I know I did.

She is sending her Momma to an early grave

Daisy has been with us for nearly a year and has suddenly decided over the past few weeks that she has a naughty streak and she intends to use it. It all started when she shredded a book I was reading, she could have just shredded the front of the book and leave me to read the ending, but that just wouldn’t do and she took a little from the front and a little from the back for good measure. Now I will never know how the ending was.

She has also taken a liking to the post at the foot of the bed and seems to use this as a giant tooth pick for cleaning her gnashers. Which not only make the bed look a little worn it also make a sound horrendous enough to rival that old favourite of rubbing your fingers nails down a chalk board.

And the list of indiscretions does not cease these, she has taken to removing my brand new cowprint slipper boots off the shoe rack whilst we are out of the house, apparently a kong now longer satisfies her boredom. And it goes on… I had some acid reflux the other night and she helped herself to a Rennie from the packet whilst I was distracted in the kitchen.

Best of all happened this morning. We exited the bedroom and while I was attending to my morning ablutions I saw her do into the spare room have a sniff and come straight out, then go down the stairs. I heard much crunching and found out that she had been down into the kitchen, popped the lid of the bin and helped herself to the bones from last nights lamb chops and had been devouring them half way up the stairs. So now the house has descended into a bone fragments stuck in the stomach paranoia, I won’t be happy until she has had a few days for the bones to pass. Looks like we need a more dog proof bin.

Then there is the return with vengeance of the dreaded night terrors. She goes through periods where everytime she drifts off to sleep she has nightmares and her hole body moves and shakes and she squeals terrified screams in her sleep and if she is woken up suddenly by a noise outside the house she runs around the house terrified and barking at anything and everything. It breaks my heart to see her like this.

Luckily she is half asleep on the sofa right now. Looking like butter wouldn’t melt, but we know otherwise.
