An Update

It has been a while since anything was posted here. Mostly down to laziness, some of it due to the fact it is winter and all the exciting summer adventures are a distant memory as living in one of the wettest parts of the country means that all the great walkies spots are water logged.

On the 9 November it was Daisy’s GOTCHA day. It doesn’t seem like she has been here for a year already as time has flown by so fast, but in other senses she is so settled it seems like she has been here forever. We have really enjoyed her being about, she is so full of fun and constantly makes us laugh, and has been an invaluable companion to me while I have been ill. Let’s hope we have many more years of love with Daisy.

Daisy went for her boosters and her check up. She was good as gold and let the vet poke and prod at her, and just sat and went along with it all so graciously. The thing that slightly puzzled me was the was saying “She is getting broad in the back, Staffies get like that”. What does that mean? Is that meaning she if fat, that she is being true to her staffy heritage? She is already on meager rations as it is as she was getting a little weighty but she has lost weight and you can see and feel her ribs and everything. But this has left me paranoid about what i should do about her.

Daisy still loves her daily walks but she has still never gotten over her phobia of other dogs. I don’t think she ever will, but we still love her to bits.

I had a “Daisy” too, for almost sixteen years. I miss her much, she was black lab and husky. More person than dog. Her tribute is here at word press.

Happy belated Gotcha Day! When I took Hera to the vet a couple weeks ago they said the same thing about her… she is SKIN AND BONES… who knows. As long as she is healthy, happy and not overweight… keep doing what you are doing. 🙂
